Privacy Policy

This page explains how analogarray.org handles personal information, browser storage, third-party services, and cookies.

Current site status

  • This site has no user accounts, checkout, newsletter signup, or contact form.
  • This site does not run advertising pixels, behavioral analytics, or remarketing tags.
  • This site does not sell, rent, or trade visitor personal information.
  • The site stores a local theme preference in your browser if you switch between light and dark mode.
  • Like most websites, hosting, CDN, and security systems may create technical logs when pages are requested.

Who runs this site

analogarray.org is the personal portfolio and project site of Anjelo Fernando, based in Auckland, New Zealand. This policy covers the main portfolio, project pages, and privacy page on analogarray.org.

Questions about this policy or your personal information can be sent to anjelo@analogarray.org.

Information this site may collect

Information you send directly

If you contact me by email, I receive the information included in that message. That may include your name, email address, message content, attachments, and normal email metadata. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for the reason you are contacting me.

Technical information

When you visit the site, technical systems used to deliver and protect the site may process log data such as IP address, requested URL, browser or device information, referrer, timestamps, error events, and security events. This is used to serve the site, troubleshoot faults, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Local browser preference

The light/dark theme toggle stores a value called aa-theme in your browser's local storage. It records only the selected theme. It is not an analytics identifier, it is not shared with advertising services, and the site script does not send it to me. You can clear it through your browser storage settings or by resetting the theme preference.

Third-party font requests

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those font files, Google may receive technical information about the request, such as your IP address and browser details. Google's privacy policy applies to that request.

How information is used

  • To reply when you email me.
  • To operate, secure, debug, and improve the site.
  • To remember your visual theme preference on your own device.
  • To meet legal, security, or abuse-prevention obligations where required.

I do not use visitor information for targeted advertising, automated profiling, credit decisions, employment screening, or resale.

Legal basis for handling information

Where a privacy law requires a legal basis, the limited handling described in this policy is based on the following grounds:

  • Contact emails: your choice to contact me, my legitimate interest in replying, and steps connected with a possible project, collaboration, or professional conversation.
  • Technical logs and security events: my legitimate interest in operating, debugging, securing, and protecting the site, and any legal obligation that may require security records or abuse handling.
  • Theme preference: your selected browser preference. It is stored locally on your device and is used only to remember the visual mode you chose.
  • Third-party font requests: my legitimate interest in presenting the site consistently. Google's own privacy terms apply to Google's processing when your browser requests Google Fonts.
  • Legal requests or disputes: compliance with legal obligations, protection of rights, or legitimate interests in preventing misuse and resolving claims.

Cookies and consent

The site itself does not currently set cookies. Because there are no analytics, advertising, tracking, embedded media, account, or checkout cookies, there is no cookie acceptance banner on the current site.

Hosting, CDN, or security providers may set strictly necessary cookies or use similar technologies if needed to deliver the site, prevent abuse, or complete a security challenge. Those are operational controls rather than advertising or analytics tracking.

The theme preference uses browser local storage rather than a cookie. If analytics, advertising pixels, embedded media, a contact form, newsletter signup, or other tracking technology is added later, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated before those features go live.

This site does not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals do not change how the site behaves.

Who information may be shared with

I do not sell visitor personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate the site and email, such as hosting, CDN, DNS, security, and email providers. Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect the site from abuse, or to respond to a valid legal process.

The site links to third-party websites such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and the Analog Array blog. Once you follow an external link, that third party's own privacy policy applies.

How long information is kept

  • Email messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the conversation, project, record, or follow-up, unless deletion is requested and there is no practical or legal reason to keep them.
  • Technical logs are kept according to the retention settings of the hosting, CDN, security, or server systems used for the site.
  • The theme preference stays in your browser until you change it, reset it, or clear browser storage.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for correction, ask for deletion where practical, or raise a concern about how your information has been handled. Send requests to anjelo@analogarray.org.

If you are in New Zealand and are not satisfied with the response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. If you are elsewhere, you may also have rights under your local privacy law.

Security and data location

The site is served over HTTPS and uses security headers to reduce common browser-side risks. There is no public account database or contact form on the current site. No website or email system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but reasonable technical and operational safeguards are used for the limited information involved.

Because the site is available globally and uses internet infrastructure providers, including services such as Cloudflare and Google Fonts, information may be processed in New Zealand or other countries where those providers operate.

Children's privacy

This site is a professional portfolio and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site changes or when legal requirements change. The latest version will be posted on this page.
